Danny Vierra, age 64, passed away peacefully with his children and their families, his siblings, and close friends by his side on the evening of December 31, 2017. Danny was born to William and Rose (Ferrari) Vierra on August 2, 1953 in Stockton, California, being the second born of their three children. Danny grew up in the midst of an Italian family and community, attending Annunciation School, serving as an Altar Boy, playing in the Babe Ruth League, and enjoying being adventurous in the great outdoors with his siblings, cousins, and friends. Danny attended Saint Mary’s High School and then UC Davis, graduating with a Bachelor’s in English.
In Danny’s early 20s he began bodybuilding, entering numerous competitions, winning awards for “Best Abs” and “Best Chest,” all without the use of steroids. His friends remember him mentoring them during their body building competition days on the importance of exercise and nutrition, marking the beginning of his interest in health and nutrition.
In 1976, Danny married Maria Aftias, they were married for 6 ½ years, and during this time Danny began his work in the health and nutrition field by co-purchasing, with his brother-in-law, Artesian Health Foods Store in Tracy, CA. This marked the start of Danny’s research in the importance of vitamins and minerals, adding to his knowledge of food nutrition and exercise. In the early 1980s, Danny purchased his second store, Lodi Health Foods in Lodi, CA. Here Danny began a journey of what it meant to cleanse and regenerate not only through health and nutrition, but also through learning and studying the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Danny married Charise Corpe in 1984, they were married for 21 years, and had 5 children. Danny and Charise were led to Christ through the Seventh-day Adventist message, and were both baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Danny and Charise were active members of the Lodi Community, opening Back to Eden Vegetarian Café, and hosting Vegetarian Education and Cooking School classes within the community. In the mid-1980s, and for over 10 years, Danny was asked to co-host Healthline, a Christian call-in radio show featuring a once-a-week health segment that attracted thousands of listeners.
In the early 1990s, Danny and Charise founded Modern Manna Ministries, a ministry focused on outreach through the health message and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Toward the mid-1990s, Danny and Charise began Modern Manna’s Health and Healing Crusade which attracted thousands of people through featured, world-renowned speakers and vendors.
The early 2000s bought an additional change and one of their most passionate endeavors. Danny and Charise opened BellaVita Lifestyle Center, a 10-day live-in detoxification program for those suffering from common diseases and ailments.
Danny went on to become the creator of The Almighty Cleanse, which he featured on the worldwide ITV Infomercial show. The show taught viewers the importance of detoxing the colon and other elimination organs of the body.
Danny married Charmaine Daniels in 2011, they were married for 6 years, and together they traveled the United States and abroad spreading the health message and performing cooking demonstrations. Danny’s last accomplishment was RISEN, a 14-day school, centered on evangelism and naturopathy.
Danny loved the Lord with all his heart and lived to fulfil God’s purpose for his life through his ministry. Danny was a wellness and cleansing expert, author, international speaker, Bible and health evangelist, founder of the Almighty Cleanse, radio and TV host, Director of Modern Manna Ministries, RISEN, and BellaVita Lifestyle Center.
He will be greatly missed, but his legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, and Modern Manna Ministries. Danny is survived by his 5 children: Giana (Casey) Kooger, Daniel (Jessica) Vierra, Lauren (Geeze) Borges, Mia and Talia Vierra; 2 granddaughters: Holland Kooger and Zeya Padilla; Brother: Billy (Germaine) Vierra; and Sister: Christine (Jon) Brandstad; and
