Obituary for Jennie Cabral Araujo

Jennie Cabral  Araujo
Jennie Cabral Araujo, of Lodi, passed away on August 29, 2017, at the age of 88.
She was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on April 13, 1929. Jennie was a factory assembly line worker. She grew up in Tauton, MA and moved with her family to Newark, CA about 1941 and eventually worked at Morton Salt in Newark, CA for 10 years. She lived in Fremont, CA where she became a homemaker and eventually went back to work at Peco Controls in Milpitis, CA, where she retired in 1995. She moved from Fremont to Lodi in 2003, and enjoyed many years of retirement before passing away after a long illness on August 29, 2017. She will be deeply missed. She enjoyed going to the Senior Citizen Center and participating on the day bus trips, sewing, crocheting, embroidery, and was learning to knit. Jennie is survived by her son, Steve (Sharon), of Olympia, WA; grandsons, Kyle (Alyssa) of Ripon, CA and Kevin and Austin, of Olympia; daughter, Carol, of Lodi; sisters, Mary Silveira, of San Jose, CA, Rosaline Waters, of Short, OK; sister-in-law, Doris Araujo of Roseville, CA; brothers, Joe Araujo of Shingle Springs, CA, and Jim Araujo of Newark, CA; brother-in-law, Sonny Bettencourt, of Ceres, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, Louis and Mary Araujo; brother, John Araujo; brothers-in-law, John Silveira and Bill Waters; sister-in-law, Pat Araujo, and sister, Virginia Bettencourt.
Visitation will be held September 7, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Avenue, Lodi, CA 95240.
