Dorothy M. Mathews, of Stockton, passed away on November 18, 2016, at the age of 100. Dorothy was born January 13, 1916, on a ranch near the town of Camanche, California to Joseph and Johanna (Graupner). She went to school in Camanche and Stockton. She was married to Aubrey L. Mathews on September 23, 1934, at the Alliance Church in Stockton. She was baptized on March 29, 1953. Dorothy had two children, Louis Mathews and Gerald Mathews of Stockton. Dorothy is survived by son,
Gerald Mathews; daughter-in-law, Joann Mathews; 4 grandchildren, Kenneth (Kim) Mathews, of Antioch, Terry Mathews, Michael Mathews, and Janet (Mathews) Rose (husband, Johnny), all of Stockton; 7 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Mathews; son, Louis Mathews, and 3 brothers, James, Lester, and Royal Hunter. Dorothy was a long-time member of the Missionary Alliance Women’s Group. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 30, from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 1, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Committal will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park.
